Volunteering

The Stoke & Newcastle Branch is run by volunteers and we are always looking for new volunteers and supporters to help us in our day to day work.
Volunteering with us is very rewarding and worthwhile and doesn't have to take up a lot of your time.  You can give as much or as little time as you can and we appreciate that this may change from day to day.  Whatever you can give is a great help to our branch and gives you something back in return; experience, friendships and the 'feel good' factor that helping cats gives.

We provide training and support for all new volunteers and out-of-pocket expenses will also be met by the branch. We just ask for your time

The volunteer opportunities available are varied, and without all of our volunteers, our branch would not be able to help as many cats and kittens as we do.

Please have a look below at some of the opportunities that are available at the moment. If you don’t see anything that interests you, please do still contact us as we may have other opportunities available. You can email stokecats@gmail.com
or call us on 0345 260 1385.

However much or little time you feel you have to spare, your help will always be welcomed. Be it on a regular, occasional or one-off basis. We really would love to hear from you.

Fundraising volunteer

As a charity we rely on funds donated by generous members of the public to continue to help cats and kittens in need. Our fundraising volunteers are part of a passionate team that help raise funds to help our feline friends in need. They help plan and deliver exciting and varied fundraising events, which can be anything from craft fairs, cake sales, sponsored abseils – and anything in between!

Volunteer Secretary

At Cats Protection we help thousands of cats and kittens each year thanks to our dedicated volunteer groups. These groups of passionate individuals all help our feline friends in different ways. They take in stray and abandoned cats and ensure they receive the veterinary care and attention they deserve, help raise funds, promote neutering and help spread cat welfare messages. Our volunteer secretaries provide the support that helps our volunteer groups run smoothly. They make a real difference to the lives of our feline friends by helping maintain positive communications, supporting others, promoting the work of Cats Protection and signposting queries from members of the public.

Social media volunteer

Social media and cats go hand in hand, and our social media volunteers use their passion and knowledge of social media to promote the activities of local volunteer groups and teams though various channels. This is a volunteer role that can be done from home, on the train or even from the sofa! Our social media volunteers directly help our feline friends by helping raise awareness of Cats Protection.  A higher profile can help us raise the funds we need for our work, ensure people know they can adopt a cat from us, help promote neutering and help as many people as possible learn more about feline welfare.
